Bhubaneswar gears up for 50th Lingaraj Mahotsav from March 26
Bhubaneswar, Mar 25: The 50th edition of Lingaraj Mahotsav is set to commence on March 26 in Bhubaneswar, promising a grand celebration of Odisha’s rich cultural heritage. The six-day festival will continue till March 31, drawing artists and audiences from across the region.
Organized by Ekamra Sanskrutika Prakashani Sanstha, the Mahotsav will feature performances by more than 700 artistes showcasing a diverse range of traditional art forms. The event coincides with the revered Rukuna Ratha Yatra of Lord Lingaraj, adding spiritual significance to the celebrations.
Artistes from Odisha as well as neighboring states will participate, including renowned troupes performing Purulia Chhau from Kolkata and Dhemsha dance from Jharkhand. Eminent performers such as Gajendra Panda, Prativa Panda, and Durga Charan Ranbir are expected to grace the stage.
The festival will also be attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with ministers and other dignitaries, highlighting the state’s commitment to preserving and promoting its cultural legacy.
