Raghubar Das, former Jharkhand CM, appointed Odisha Governor

Bhubaneswar, Oct 19: In an announcement made by Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday, President Droupadi Murmu has designated new Governors for Odisha and Tripura.
Raghubar Das, the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and the current National Vice-President of the BJP, has been appointed as the Governor of Odisha. Simultaneously, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu has been appointed as the Governor of Tripura.
The official communique confirmed that these appointments will come into effect on the respective dates when they assume their new roles. It stated, "President Droupadi Murmu is pleased to make the appointments that will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices."
Raghubar Das, who served as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand from 2014 to 2019, will succeed the incumbent Odisha Governor, Prof. Ganeshi Lal. Prof. Lal assumed the role of Governor on May 29, 2018, after being appointed on May 25. While his five-year term has concluded, he has continued in office as his successor had not been named until now.
