Youth brutally murdered by armed miscreants in Bhadrak village

Bhubaneswar, Mar 9: A young man was brutally killed by a group of five unidentified miscreants in Gunthunia village under Sadar police station limits in Bhadrak district late on Sunday night. The shocking incident has created panic and tension among residents of the area.

The deceased has been identified as Srikumar Swami, a resident of Charampa Railway Colony in Bhadrak. According to reports, Srikumar was at his home watching the T20 cricket final match on television when he received a phone call. Shortly afterwards, he left his house and went towards Gunthunia market.

Sources said that when he reached the market area, a group of around five armed attackers allegedly surrounded him and launched a brutal assault using sharp weapons. Despite several locals being present nearby, no one intervened during the violent attack.

Critically injured, Srikumar was immediately rushed to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival. Preliminary reports suggest that the attackers may be involved in previous criminal activities, though their identities have not yet been confirmed.

Police have seized the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. An investigation has been launched to determine the motive behind the killing and to trace the absconding attackers.
