Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: A wave of shock and indignation has swept through the Basudevpur block following the detention of a teacher from PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. The educator stands accused of a predatory late-night attempt to sexually assault a Class VII student within the supposedly secure confines of the school premises.

According to reports, the harrowing incident unfolded under the cover of darkness while the young victim was residing in the school hostel. In an extraordinary display of courage, the minor managed to break free from the perpetrator’s grasp during the struggle. Fearing for her life, she fled the campus and navigated the dark until she reached Natiapal village. There, she found sanctuary in the home of a compassionate elderly woman, to whom she recounted her terrifying ordeal.

By dawn, the gravity of the situation prompted local villagers to alert the Kasia Marine police station. Law enforcement acted immediately, rescuing the girl and ensuring she received urgent medical evaluation and psychological support.

The accused teacher was promptly taken into custody. While the interrogation is ongoing, the local community is demanding stringent safety protocols to ensure such a breach of trust never occurs again.
