Amit Shah to inaugurate Nyaya Sanhita Exhibition in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, Mar 5: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Nyaya Sanhita Exhibition at the Exhibition Ground in Unit-III, Bhubaneswar on Friday (March 6). The event aims to create public awareness about the major reforms introduced in India’s criminal justice system. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is also scheduled to attend the programme.
The exhibition, which will remain open to visitors from March 7 to March 10, will highlight the key features of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), which replaced the colonial-era criminal laws in India on July 1, 2024.
According to Odisha Director General of Police Y B Khurania, the exhibition will highlight reforms focusing on timely justice, protection of victims’ rights and the use of technology in criminal investigations.
The entire justice delivery system—from crime scene management to High Court proceedings—will be showcased in an interactive format. Ten thematic stalls will explain emergency services, police functioning, forensic investigation, hospitals, prosecution, courts and prison administration to help citizens better understand the criminal justice process.
