Bhubaneswar, Feb 26: The Higher Education Department of the Odisha government has announced that the admission process for postgraduate (PG) courses for the 2026–27 academic session will commence on February 27. PG classes across state public universities and affiliated colleges are scheduled to begin from July 10, 2026.
As per the department, admissions to various PG programmes will be conducted through the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET), which will be the sole selection criterion. Eligible candidates can submit their Common Application Form (CAF) online through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal between February 27 and March 15, 2026.
The CPET examinations for different subjects will be held from April 27 to May 10, 2026. Admissions will be granted strictly on the basis of marks secured in the entrance test.
Officials stated that advancing the admission schedule aims to streamline the academic calendar, ensure timely completion of examinations, and facilitate early declaration of results. The centralized online system is also expected to enhance transparency, uniformity, and efficiency in the admission process, benefiting thousands of students across the state.
