Odisha CM hails radio as ‘Voice of the People’ on World Radio Day

Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: On the occasion of World Radio Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi underscored the enduring relevance of radio, describing it as a vital medium of communication and the true “voice of the people.”

In a message shared on his social media handle, the Chief Minister highlighted radio’s historic and continuing role in connecting communities across geographical and social boundaries. He noted that despite rapid technological advancement and the rise of digital platforms, radio remains a trusted and accessible source of information for millions, particularly in rural and remote regions.

Majhi emphasized that radio has consistently contributed to public awareness, education, and civic engagement. He said the medium plays a crucial role in strengthening democratic values by amplifying citizens’ voices and disseminating government initiatives and welfare information effectively.

The Chief Minister further stated that from villages to urban centers, radio continues to inform, educate, and inspire successive generations. He added that the platform fosters social harmony and serves as a reliable companion during emergencies and times of need, reinforcing its timeless significance in society.
