Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: A shocking incident of alleged abduction and assault has been reported from Bhadrak district, where a youth was attacked after protesting against a group accused of passing objectionable comments near a college in Jagannathpur on Thursday.
The victim, identified as Deepak Dakua, had reportedly objected to a group of youths who were allegedly passing remarks near the college premises at Jagannathpur. Following his protest, the accused initially fled the scene, diffusing the tension temporarily.
However, the situation escalated later in the day when around 10 to 15 youths allegedly returned to the area. According to reports, they forcibly abducted Deepak in a car and took him to an isolated location. He was then brutally assaulted and later abandoned in a critically injured and bloodied condition near a Shani temple close to the Nathasahi petrol pump on the Bhadrak–Chandbali road.
