Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: A sensational twist has surfaced in the case of a car that plunged from the Shishu Bhawan Chhak overbridge in Bhubaneswar, with police uncovering a suspected murder behind what initially appeared to be a road accident.

According to reports, the vehicle belonged to a resident of Brahmagiri and was being driven by Satyabrata Pradhan, a professional driver. Police investigations revealed that Satyabrata had travelled to Bhubaneswar to meet his girlfriend, who is employed at a beauty parlour in the Chandrasekharpur area.

During the meeting, an altercation allegedly broke out between the two. In a shocking turn of events, the woman is accused of slitting Satyabrata’s throat, leading to his death. Police have since detained the accused girlfriend and are interrogating her to ascertain the motive and sequence of events.

After learning about Satyabrata’s death, the car owner reportedly reached the spot along with another driver and attempted to take the vehicle away. However, while fleeing, the driver allegedly lost control, causing the car to crash through the railing and plunge off the overbridge.

What first seemed like a tragic traffic mishap has now evolved into a chilling murder investigation, sending shockwaves across the city.
