22nd Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav to celebrate Odisha’s cultural legacy from February 6
Bhubaneswar, Feb 3: The 22nd edition of the Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav is set to commence on February 6 and will continue till February 8, offering a vibrant celebration of Odisha’s rich cultural and artistic heritage. The three-day festival will once again transform the historic Dhauli hills into a grand stage for classical dance and music.
The prestigious event is being organised by the Odisha Dance Academy in collaboration with the Odisha government’s Department of Culture and Tourism and Bhubaneswar Art Vision. It will feature spellbinding performances by renowned national and international artistes, bringing together diverse traditions and artistic expressions on a single platform.
Speaking about the festival, noted Odissi dancer and exponent Aruna Mohanty said the Dhauli-Kalinga Mahotsav aims to promote the universal message of peace and harmony through the powerful mediums of dance and music. She added that the festival will also recognise outstanding contributions to the arts by conferring the Buddha Samman and the Guru Gangadhar Memorial Awards on distinguished dancers, musicians, and playwrights.
With its blend of tradition, spirituality, and artistic excellence, the festival promises three evenings of cultural extravaganza. Art lovers, cultural enthusiasts, and tourists are expected to gather in large numbers to witness the celebration, making the Mahotsav a memorable experience for all.
