Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: In a tragic road accident, one person lost his life while two others sustained critical injuries after an SUV rammed into the motorcycle they were riding near Capital Hospital Square in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Raja Pedini, a resident of the Old Town area.

According to sources, the high-speed SUV, reportedly a Thar, hit the bike with great force, throwing the riders onto the road. Raja Pedini was allegedly crushed under the wheels of the vehicle, resulting in fatal injuries. He was rushed to Capital Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The two injured riders were immediately shifted for medical treatment. One victim is currently undergoing treatment at Capital Hospital, while the condition of the other worsened, prompting doctors to refer him to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for advanced care. Their health condition remains critical, hospital sources said.

Police rushed to the spot after being informed and seized both the SUV and the damaged motorcycle. A case has been registered, and investigators are scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify the driver and determine the circumstances that led to the accident. Further investigation is underway to establish responsibility and take legal action against the culprit.
