CM Mohan Charan Majhi to attend investors’ meet in Bengal to boost industrial growth
Bhubaneswar, Jan 15: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to embark on a three-day visit to West Bengal from tomorrow to attend an Investors’ Meet aimed at attracting fresh investments and accelerating Odisha’s industrial development. According to official sources, the Chief Minister will be accompanied by Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and senior government officials as part of the high-level delegation.
This will be Majhi’s second major investment outreach initiative after the successful Investors’ Meet held in Hyderabad last year. The Hyderabad event proved highly productive, with the Odisha government securing investment commitments worth around ₹67,000 crore, which are expected to generate nearly 56,000 employment opportunities across various sectors.
During the two-day Hyderabad programme, the state government conducted 73 high-level business meetings with industry leaders and held two sector-specific roundtable discussions. One roundtable focused on the pharmaceutical sector and included participation from eight leading pharma companies. The second session brought together representatives from 27 defence-sector firms to explore potential collaborations.
Through the upcoming West Bengal meet, the state government aims to further strengthen investor confidence and showcase Odisha’s business-friendly policies, infrastructure, and growth potential across key industrial sectors.
