Triple murder in Deogarh village shocks residents
Bhubaneswar, Mar 12: A gruesome triple murder has sent shockwaves through Gariapali village under Kundeigola police limits in Odisha’s Deogarh district, after a man allegedly killed three members of his family late Wednesday night.
According to preliminary reports, the accused, identified as Ramesh Garia, allegedly attacked his wife, daughter-in-law and four-year-old granddaughter with a hammer at his residence. The victims have been identified as his wife Kuhul, daughter-in-law Lipi and granddaughter Gayatri.
Sources said the incident occurred late at night when the accused reportedly assaulted the victims, allegedly bludgeoning them to death with a hammer. The brutal nature of the crime has left villagers stunned and fearful.
After committing the crime, Ramesh Garia is believed to have fled the spot, leaving the bodies inside the house. The exact reason behind the shocking incident is yet to be established, and police are probing various angles to determine the motive.
On receiving information, a team from Kundeigola police station rushed to the scene and began an investigation. The police seized the blood-stained hammer believed to have been used in the crime.
A manhunt has been launched to trace and arrest the accused, while further investigation into the case is underway.
