Rs 250 crore to be disbursed under Subhadra Scheme this week: Deputy CM Pravati Parida
Bhubaneswar, Jan 8: A total of 4,57,681 women across Odisha will receive financial assistance under the state government’s flagship Subhadra scheme this week, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed on Wednesday. Speaking to the media, Parida said the government has completed the verification process and is ready to transfer the funds directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
She revealed that out of the total beneficiaries, 1,78,398 are newly added, while 2,55,265 women who were previously excluded have now been re-included after proper verification. Additionally, 24,018 beneficiaries were enrolled following grievance redressal hearings conducted across the state. “All eligible women will receive the financial support within this week. A total amount of Rs 250 crore will be disbursed under the scheme,” Parida said.
The Deputy CM reiterated the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and financial inclusion. Under the Subhadra scheme, each eligible woman is entitled to receive Rs 10,000 annually, which is provided in two equal instalments of Rs 5,000 each.
The scheme aims to provide economic support to women and strengthen their financial independence, benefiting lakhs of families across Odisha.
