Nine Odisha students return from Israel in 'Operation Ajay' amid conflict

Bhubaneswar, Oct 14: Nine students from Odisha, who were pursuing higher education in various Israeli universities, have returned to India as part of the initial phase of 'Operation Ajay.' Eight of them arrived in the state capital on Saturday morning.
In the first flight from conflict-ridden Israel, these nine students from Odisha made their way back home. They were offered accommodations at Odisha Bhawan in New Delhi. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has issued directives to ensure the safe return of fellow residents to the state," reported Ravi Kant, the Resident Commissioner in New Delhi.
Among these returning students, one mentioned that during passport and visa verification, it was discovered that around 50 individuals from Odisha remain stranded in Israel. Efforts are currently underway to bring them back safely in subsequent flights, according to the Resident Commissioner.
The Indian Embassy provided them with registration forms and advised them to register for their return to India. They undertook a self-organized journey to the Tel Aviv airport, boarded an Indian flight, and embarked on their journey home.
