Lady lecturer’s mysterious death: Police arrest close associate in Keonjhar
Bhubaneswar, Dec 18: Keonjhar Town Police have arrested a man in connection with the mysterious death of a lady lecturer of Government Women’s College, whose body was found at her male friend’s residence, triggering serious allegations from her family.
The accused has been identified as Rudra Narayan Mishra, a local resident and close associate of the deceased. Acting on a written complaint lodged by the victim’s family, Town Police took Mishra into custody on charges of murder. He is scheduled to be produced before the court later today.
The deceased, Priyanka Das, hailed from Talapada village in Balasore district. She had been working as a guest faculty member in the Home Science department of Government Women’s College for the past two years. During her tenure in Keonjhar, she was residing in a rented house near Nirmala Convent School on Mining Road, where she reportedly shared accommodation with the accused.
Family members have alleged foul play in her death, claiming visible injury marks on her neck. They have strongly demanded a comprehensive and impartial investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to her death. Police officials have stated that further inquiry is underway.
