Jagatsinghpur MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai escapes unhurt after car hit from behind on NH-55
Bhubaneswar, May 29: BJP MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai, who represents the Jagatsinghpur Lok Sabha constituency, narrowly escaped a major accident after another vehicle rammed into his car from behind near Hajipur on National Highway 55 on Saturday. The incident occurred while Tarai was travelling from Bhubaneswar to Jagatsinghpur to attend a sports event scheduled at the Nabakrushna Choudhury Stadium.
As per reports, a speeding car suddenly collided with the MP’s vehicle, causing substantial damage to the rear side. The impact was strong enough to alarm the MP’s security personnel and other commuters on the busy highway. However, despite the severity of the collision, Tarai escaped unharmed, much to the relief of his supporters and party members.
Following the incident, the Biridi police acted swiftly, detaining the driver of the offending vehicle and seizing the car involved in the crash. Police officials have initiated a preliminary inquiry to determine whether rash driving, negligence, or any other factor led to the accident. The mishap has once again raised concerns over rising cases of overspeeding and careless driving on NH-55, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of traffic norms to ensure commuter safety.
