Odisha CM launches LAccMI scheme to enhance rural connectivity

Bhubaneswar, Oct 12: Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, inaugurated the Location Accessible Multimodal Initiative (LAccMI) scheme in Malkangiri district on Thursday.
The initial phase of the program will introduce bus services to rural regions in six districts: Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, and Gajapati.
Emphasizing the scheme's role in enhancing the economic and social well-being of rural communities, the Chief Minister stated that it will provide transportation links from rural to urban areas.
The state government has allocated a budget of Rs 3,178 crore to operate 1000 buses throughout rural areas in Odisha. This initiative is designed to enhance accessibility and transportation options for the residents of the state.
The bus routes will extend from panchayats to block headquarters and further from block headquarters to district headquarters, facilitating better connectivity within the region.
