Bhubaneswar, Nov 20: In a shocking daylight incident on Thursday, unidentified miscreants looted a bag containing gold, silver, and cash from a jeweller near Chandanpur, triggering concern among local traders and residents. According to the FIR, Sanjay, the proprietor of Radhakant Jewellery, was transporting a bag filled with valuables when two assailants on a motorcycle intercepted him. Acting swiftly, the duo snatched the bag and sped away before the victim could react.

Initial reports suggest that the stolen property includes more than one lakh rupees in cash, along with a significant quantity of gold and silver ornaments. The exact valuation of the loss is still being assessed as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Following the incident, Chandanpur Police immediately reached the spot and initiated a preliminary investigation. In a coordinated effort, Puri Police have constituted three special teams dedicated to tracing and apprehending the culprits. The case has been handed over to the SDPO and Sadar Police for a thorough investigation.

Briefing the media, the Puri SP stated that the verification of the exact amount and nature of the looted items is currently underway, and all possible angles—including planned robbery and insider involvement—are being closely examined.
