Night temperatures to dip by 3–4°C across Odisha, says IMD
Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar on Friday predicted a fall of 3–4°C in minimum (night) temperatures across Odisha over the next three to four days. Despite the dip, dry weather is expected to prevail statewide for at least the next seven days, with no rainfall warnings issued for any district.
According to the IMD, northwesterly to northerly winds are currently dominating the state’s weather pattern. Moderate fog was observed in parts of Sundargarh, while shallow fog appeared in Kalahandi. No rainfall activity was reported anywhere in the state.
At several interior locations, minimum temperatures remained 3–4°C above normal, while other areas recorded near-normal readings. The day’s highest temperature was 34.0°C at Paralakhemundi, whereas Phulbani recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 14.0°C.
The seven-day forecast indicates persistent dry conditions up to November 14, followed by stable weather through November 17. In Bhubaneswar, mornings may see fog or mist, giving way to clear skies during the day, with maximum temperatures around 32°C and minimums near 19°C.
The IMD added that farmers can expect favourable dry conditions for agricultural activities and no advisories or warnings have been issued for fishermen along the Odisha coast over the next five days.
