Bhubaneswar, Nov 3: Tension gripped Choudwar Jail on Monday after the body of an undertrial prisoner, identified as Pabitra Sahu, was recovered from the prison premises under mysterious circumstances. The incident has deepened the ongoing controversy surrounding the jail’s management and security standards.

According to sources, prison officials discovered Sahu’s body early in the morning and immediately informed the police. The body was seized and sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Preliminary findings indicate a possible case of suicide, though authorities have not ruled out foul play pending a detailed investigation.
