Elderly man killed in bull attack in Nayagarh’s Dasapalla block
Bhubaneswar, Oct 28: In a tragic incident, an 81-year-old man lost his life after being attacked by a bull at Dahanga gram panchayat under Dasapalla block in Nayagarh district on Tuesday morning. The victim, identified as Bauria Rana, was heading towards a nearby pond in the Malisahi area for his daily morning routine when the bull suddenly charged at him.
Eyewitnesses reported that the animal attacked Rana multiple times, leaving him critically injured. Locals rushed to his aid and immediately informed his family members. He was quickly taken to the Dasapalla Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
The shocking death of the elderly villager has cast a pall of gloom over Dahanga and nearby areas. Villagers have urged the local administration to take steps to restrain stray and aggressive cattle roaming freely in public places, citing growing safety concerns. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Rana’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
