Three senior officials of Vanik Coaching Centre appear before Crime Branch in SI recruitment scam probe

Bhubaneswar, Oct 10: In a key development in the ongoing investigation into the Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam, three senior officials of Vanik Coaching Centre appeared before the Odisha Crime Branch on Friday.
Those who presented themselves for questioning included the HR Manager, Admin Manager, and Accounts Head of the institute. They were summoned by the investigating officer after being served official notices earlier this week. Their statements are being recorded to ascertain the coaching centre’s alleged role in the recruitment irregularities.
Earlier, a three-member Crime Branch team led by DSP Narendra Behera had conducted an intensive three-hour raid at Vanik Coaching Centre’s Bhubaneswar premises. The team seized several documents and records related to job aspirants suspected of involvement in the scam.
Preliminary findings revealed that several of the 114 candidates arrested from Vizianagaram had been students of Vanik Coaching Centre. Although investigators have confirmed a connection, the exact number of linked candidates remains under verification.
The Crime Branch is now examining seized materials and statements to determine whether the coaching institute or its staff had any direct or indirect role in facilitating the scam.
