Temporary darshan restrictions at Puri Jagannath Temple for Ratna Bhandar shifting
Bhubaneswar, Sept 22: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced that devotees will be restricted from having darshan of the holy Trinity at the Jagannath Temple in Puri from 10 am tomorrow. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to facilitate the safe transfer of valuable ornaments and items back to the Ratna Bhandar.
The Ratna Bhandar, which houses the priceless ornaments of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, had recently undergone repair works. During this period, the valuables were temporarily shifted for safekeeping. With the completion of the repair, the items will now be restored to their original chamber.
To ensure security, devotees will not be allowed into the temple and Bhog Mandap during the shifting process. However, Mahaprasad distribution at Anand Bazar will continue without interruption.
SJTA has urged devotees to extend their cooperation for the smooth conduct of this sensitive exercise. Officials have assured that normal darshan will resume immediately after the transfer is completed, emphasizing that the temporary restriction is crucial to safeguarding the temple’s invaluable treasures.
