Bhubaneswar, July 3: The Odisha government's Planning and Convergence Department has issued a public appeal urging citizens to assist in the ongoing investigation into the tragic stampede at Saradhabali near Gundicha Temple in Puri. The incident, which occurred on Sunday during the ‘Pahuda’ ritual, claimed three lives and left over 50 people injured.

To aid the administrative inquiry, the government has requested the public to submit any relevant information, including video footage, photos, or other materials, by emailing puritragedy.enquiry@odisha.gov.in before July 20. Additionally, two landline numbers — 0674-2536882 and 0674-2391970 — have been made available for direct communication with the inquiry team.

For those preferring to share information in person, Development Commissioner Anu Garg — who is leading the inquiry — will be available at the State Guest House in Bhubaneswar after 3 PM on July 9 and at the Special Circuit House in Puri after 3 PM on July 10.

Commissioner Garg has already visited the site and interacted with local authorities and stakeholders. She is expected to submit her detailed report to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi within 30 days.
