Odisha Vigilance unearths massive disproportionate assets from engineer in Bolangir

Bhubaneswar, July 3: In a major crackdown on corruption, Odisha Vigilance officials uncovered significant disproportionate assets from Dileswar Majhi, Assistant Executive Engineer of the Titlagarh R&B Sub-Division under the Kantabanji R&B Division in Bolangir district. Acting on credible allegations, simultaneous raids were conducted at six different locations across Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Bolangir districts.
The operation led to the discovery of multiple high-value properties and assets. These included a 4,500 square-foot double-storey building in Sambalpur’s Sarla area, which also houses a beauty parlour operated by Majhi’s wife, and another 6,300 square-foot double-storey building at Brajaraj Nagar Unit-II. Additionally, two more buildings were found in Lahandapur (Jharsuguda), along with a market complex with four shops in Brajaraj Nagar.
Investigators also seized nine land plots, ₹6.57 lakh in cash, about 300 grams of gold, a Swift Desire car, two two-wheelers, and ₹20 lakh in bank deposits. More deposits and investments are being verified.
The raids were executed by a team of five DSPs, eight Inspectors, and other officers, under search warrants from the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balangir. The probe is ongoing, with further updates awaited.
