Diarrhoea situation under control in Odisha, says Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling

Bhubaneswar, June 23: Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling on Monday assured that the diarrhoea situation in Odisha is under control and improving steadily. He stated that the state government is taking the issue seriously and has observed a decline in the number of new cases reported in recent days.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has personally reviewed the situation with officials from four key departments to ensure coordinated and effective management. As part of the response, "Stop Diarrhoea" awareness campaigns have been launched across all districts, and district collectors have been directed to closely monitor the developments.
Mahaling urged the public to remain alert, maintain hygiene, and take precautionary measures to help prevent further spread of the disease.
Special arrangements are being made for the upcoming Rath Yatra festival in Puri, which sees large public gatherings. The government will deploy 387 doctors and paramedical staff, establish 69 first-aid centres, and arrange 79 ambulances to provide swift medical assistance. The Chief Minister also conducted a special review to ensure safe drinking water supply and preventive healthcare during the festival.
