Half-day holiday declared in Bhubaneswar ahead of PM Modi’s visit on June 20

Bhubaneswar, June 19: In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Bhubaneswar on June 20, the Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Department has announced a half-day holiday for all government offices and Revenue and Magisterial courts under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) limits.
The decision has been taken to ease public movement and manage the expected heavy rush of people during the Prime Minister's roadshow and public meeting. PM Modi is scheduled to hold a mega roadshow from Biju Patnaik International Airport to Janata Maidan, where he will address a large public gathering. Authorities estimate that over two lakh people are expected to participate in the event.
To facilitate crowd and traffic management, the Commissionerate Police has issued detailed advisories, including route diversions and designated parking spaces for buses and other vehicles. Goods carriers with six or more wheels will be diverted away from the main roads to prevent congestion. However, emergency services like ambulances and fire tenders will be allowed free movement along the restricted corridors to ensure public safety and timely response.
