Bhubaneswar, June 17: A shocking incident has come to light from Tentalapasi village under Pandapada police station limits in Keonjhar district, where the body of a young woman was found hanging from a tree near her residence on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Meera Nayak, daughter of Dashratha Nayak, a local resident. Her body was discovered under suspicious circumstances, with visible injuries raising serious doubts about the nature of her death.

According to police sources, Meera may have been sexually assaulted before being murdered. The hanging appears to be a deliberate attempt by the perpetrator to stage the incident as a suicide. Police also found clothes suspected to belong to the accused at the scene, indicating a hurried escape.

Soon after receiving information, Pandapada police reached the spot and began a detailed investigation. The body was sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.

A special team has been deployed to trace the accused, and efforts are ongoing to uncover the full sequence of events that led to the tragic death of the young woman.
