Ranarnab Deb, younger brother of Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingh Deb, passes away
Bhubaneswar, June 16: Ranarnab Deb, the younger brother of Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingh Deb, passed away at the age of 67 following a prolonged illness. He had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Puri, where he breathed his last on Sunday night.
Sources close to the family reported that Ranarnab Deb had been battling health-related complications for some time and was admitted to the hospital for medical care. Despite the doctors' efforts, his condition deteriorated, and he passed away late Sunday evening.
His last rites will be conducted with royal honours, in keeping with the traditions of the Puri royal family. The funeral arrangements are expected to follow age-old customs that reflect the royal family's cultural and spiritual legacy.
News of his demise has cast a pall of gloom over Puri and across Odisha. People from various walks of life, including political leaders, cultural figures, and devotees of Lord Jagannath, have extended their condolences to the royal family, expressing grief over the loss of a respected and beloved figure in Odisha’s royal heritage.
