Minister Krushna Chandra Patra escapes unhurt in road mishap near Cuttack
Bhubaneswar, June 6: Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra had a narrow escape on Friday when his vehicle was involved in a road accident near Sandhapur Square under Barang police limits in Cuttack district. Fortunately, the minister escaped unhurt in the incident.
According to police sources, the minister was en route from Banki to Bhubaneswar when his car collided head-on with a hyva truck coming from the opposite direction. The collision, which occurred around midday, caused damage to the minister’s vehicle but did not result in any injuries to him or his staff.
Barang police immediately rushed to the spot and launched a probe into the cause of the mishap. The hyva truck involved in the accident has been seized and taken to the Godisahi police outpost for further examination.
Following the incident, Minister Patra was safely escorted to his destination in another official vehicle. While no casualties have been reported, the police are investigating whether negligence or overspeeding contributed to the accident. Security has been tightened in the area as a precaution
