Bhubaneswar, June 2: In a shocking case of domestic violence, a 35-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife while he was asleep at their residence in Gobindpur village under Kabisuryanagar police station in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Sunday.

The deceased, identified as Kalia Sethi, was reportedly killed following an ongoing dispute with his wife, Pooja Sethi. According to police sources, the couple had been married for 15 years after eloping and marrying for love. However, their relationship had deteriorated in recent years due to Kalia’s growing suspicions about Pooja's alleged extramarital affair.

Family members claimed that frequent arguments had erupted between the two over the issue. On the night of the incident, a verbal altercation reportedly escalated. In a gruesome turn of events, Pooja allegedly stabbed Kalia multiple times with the assistance of her father while he was sleeping.

The police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. An investigation has been launched to uncover all facts surrounding the murder. Pooja and her father are likely to face charges based on the outcome of the inquiry.
