Major road projects to begin soon to ease Bhubaneswar traffic, says Works Minister

Bhubaneswar, May 24: Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Saturday announced that a series of major road construction projects aimed at easing traffic congestion in Bhubaneswar will kick off within a month.
Addressing the media, Harichandan stated that four to five key infrastructure initiatives have been identified to tackle traffic bottlenecks across the city.
"The alignment work for both left and right carriageways is set to begin within a month. Land acquisition is almost complete and should conclude by the end of this month. We are targeting completion of both carriageways by December," he said.
As part of the broader traffic management strategy, the minister also revealed plans to eliminate all traffic signals along the Jaydev Vihar–Nandankanan stretch. "To ensure smoother vehicular flow, advanced traffic management systems will be introduced along this corridor," Harichandan noted.
He further added that the foundation stone for the next phase of the congestion-reduction initiative will be laid during the June festivities. The tendering process will be finalized within the next month, paving the way for construction to begin shortly thereafter.
