Amit Shah’s two-day visit to Odisha postponed amid rising India-Pakistan tensions

Bhubaneswar, May 8: Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s much-anticipated two-day visit to Odisha, scheduled for May 10 and 11, has been officially postponed due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. The visit was expected to include key political and developmental engagements across the state.
According to sources, Shah was scheduled to arrive in Puri to offer prayers at the Shree Jagannath Temple and address BJP workers as part of the party’s outreach and poll preparedness efforts. He was also set to lay the foundation stone for the upcoming National Forensic Science University campus at Jatani, a significant step in boosting forensic research and crime investigation infrastructure in Odisha.
In addition, the Home Minister was slated to visit Sambalpur to offer prayers at the revered Maa Samaleswari Temple and inaugurate or lay foundation stones for a series of developmental projects aimed at strengthening the region’s infrastructure and services.
The postponement has been confirmed by the Sambalpur Collector, but no new dates have been announced. Party leaders are expected to reschedule the visit once the geopolitical situation stabilizes.
