Widow of Pahalgam terror attack victim welcomes India’s Operation Sindoor

Bhubaneswar, May 7: Priyadarshini Acharya, the widow of Prashant Satpathy—one of the victims of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir—has welcomed India’s decisive military response through Operation Sindoor, calling it a “moment of justice.”
“They took our loved ones on a Tuesday. We hit back on a Tuesday. You killed us by asking our religion; we attacked you by declaring ours,” she said emotionally, expressing pride in the country’s firm action.
Priyadarshini, who hails from Balasore, Odisha, had been vacationing with her husband and nine-year-old son when the tragic incident unfolded. While alighting from a ropeway in Pahalgam, they came under attack by unidentified terrorists. Prashant was fatally shot in the head, leaving his family shattered.
“My husband is gone, he will never return. But if our government’s action can stop even one such attack in the future, then it’s worth it,” she said.
Operation Sindoor was India’s targeted military operation against terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, primarily aimed at dismantling infrastructure linked to groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. The operation destroyed nine camps and eliminated key terrorist leaders.
