PG student found hanging from tree in Mayurbhanj; probe launched

Bhubaneswar, May 2: In a shocking incident, the body of a post-graduation student was found hanging from a mango tree at Raibania village under Udala police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Rekha Khandei, a native of the same village.
According to sources, Rekha was pursuing her postgraduate studies at Ravenshaw University in Cuttack. She had returned to her native village just four days prior to the tragic incident. Her lifeless body was discovered by locals in the early morning hours, hanging from a mango tree near her residence, under mysterious circumstances.
Family members and villagers were left in shock and disbelief, as there was no immediate clue or note indicating the cause of her death. Police personnel from Udala reached the spot soon after being informed and have launched an investigation.
The body has been seized for autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death. Police officials have not ruled out any possibilities yet, and further details will emerge as the investigation progresses.
