Youth killed after allegedly being hit by police vehicle in Talcher; locals protest demanding justice

Bhubaneswar, April 29: Tension prevailed in the Balanda area of Talcher in Angul district on Tuesday after a young man, Sushant Sahoo, reportedly died after being hit by a police vehicle belonging to the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF).
The tragic incident occurred early in the morning when Sushant was riding his scooty to the local market to buy groceries. Eyewitnesses claim that an OISF vehicle, allegedly moving at high speed, struck him from behind, causing him to crash onto the road. He died on the spot due to the impact. Shockingly, the vehicle driver fled the scene without offering help.
The news of Sushant's death sparked outrage among local residents. A large crowd assembled at the accident site, blocking the road and demanding the immediate arrest of the driver and justice for the deceased. The protesters shouted slogans, held placards, and accused the authorities of negligence, questioning how law enforcers could become the cause of such a tragedy.
Upon receiving information, the local police reached the spot, calmed the situation, and launched a formal investigation into the incident.
