Delhi Assembly Speaker to visit Odisha for study tour on paperless legislative practices
Bhubaneswar, April 14: Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Vijender Gupta, is set to embark on a three-day study tour to Bhubaneswar from April 15 to April 17 to gain insights into the successful implementation of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) in the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
The tour aims to study how Odisha has effectively transitioned to a fully paperless legislative process, an official from the Delhi Assembly Secretariat said on Monday.
The objective of the visit is to examine the best practices, technological infrastructure, and operational frameworks that have enabled Odisha to implement NeVA smoothly. This digital initiative has streamlined legislative procedures and significantly reduced paper usage, setting a benchmark for other assemblies in the country.
During the last Budget session, Speaker Gupta had pledged to make the Delhi Assembly completely paperless within 100 days. In line with this commitment, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is expected to allocate funds to support the rollout of NeVA in Delhi.
Gupta will be accompanied by Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, senior officials from the Delhi Assembly, and key members associated with the NeVA project.
