Odisha Government creates 514 new posts in prosecution and forensic departments

Bhubaneswar, April 9: In a significant step to strengthen the justice delivery system, the Odisha Government has created a total of 514 new posts—267 in the Directorate of Public Prosecution and 247 in the State Forensic Science Department.
According to a notification issued by the Home Department, out of the 267 posts created for the Directorate of Public Prosecution, 163 will be allocated to the central directorate in Bhubaneswar, while the remaining will be distributed across various District Directorates of Public Prosecution. These positions are intended to enhance the efficiency of the state's prosecution services.
Simultaneously, 247 posts have been sanctioned for the State Forensic Science Department in different categories. These include one Joint Director, two Deputy Directors, 20 Assistant Directors, 65 Senior Scientific Officers, 71 Scientific Officers, 21 Senior Forensic Attendants, and 67 Junior Forensic Attendants. These additions are expected to boost the state’s forensic investigation capacity.
All newly created posts will carry the standard pay scale, DA, and other government allowances. Recruitment for these posts will be carried out as per the Odisha Reservation of Vacancies (ORV) Act and other applicable procedures.
