Remuna Police nab Bihar man linked to 2024 firing incident; arms, cash seized

Bhubaneswar, April 8: In a significant breakthrough, Remuna police on Tuesday arrested a man in connection with a firing incident that took place in 2024. The accused has been identified as Lambu, alias Chandramohan Jha, a native of Phulhara village in Bihar's Samastipur district.
According to Balasore SP Raj Prasad, the incident occurred last year when a group of miscreants opened fire on SK Jasim as he was returning home from Somanathpur. One of the accused, Sanjay Singh alias Sanjay Giri, had earlier been arrested and forwarded to court. Acting on fresh intelligence, police recently learned that Chandramohan was headed to Bampada Chhak in a Bolero vehicle. A special team quickly swung into action, intercepted the vehicle, and apprehended him.
Police recovered an automatic pistol, eight live rounds, two magazines, Rs 14,000 in cash, and the Bolero used in transit. SP Prasad also revealed that Chandramohan had a criminal history and was previously jailed in 2007, later released in 2023. He is suspected to be involved in several illegal activities. Further investigation is underway to identify his associates and uncover the full extent of his criminal network.
