Justice Harish Tandon sworn in as 35th Chief Justice of Orissa High Court

Bhubaneswar, March 26: Justice Harish Tandon was sworn in as the 35th Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court on Wednesday in a solemn ceremony held on the court premises. Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati administered the oath of office in the presence of High Court judges, members of the Bar Association, and other dignitaries.
Justice Tandon’s appointment follows the Supreme Court collegium’s recommendation on March 6. Before assuming his new role, he and his wife visited the Jagannath Temple in Puri, where they were given a warm welcome by District Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain, Superintendent of Police (SP) Vinit Agrawal, and officials of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). The couple offered prayers to Lord Jagannath and other deities and were felicitated with a traditional Khandua Pata by the district administration.
Justice Tandon began his legal career at the Calcutta High Court, where he was elevated as a judge on April 13, 2010. He completed his law degree from Calcutta University in 1983 and enrolled as an advocate in 1989.
