Four convicted, sentenced to life imprisonment in Jatni murder case

Bhubaneswar, March 25: The Khordha Additional District Judge II court has convicted four individuals in connection with the brutal Jatni murder case and sentenced them to life imprisonment. The verdict comes nearly eight years after the gruesome murder of Anup Behra on March 2, 2017.

The court found Halu Behra, Mrunal Behra, Gopinath Behra, and Nalu Behra guilty of murdering Anup Behra using sharp weapons and iron rods. The conviction was based on strong evidence gathered during a thorough investigation and trial. The prosecution presented witness testimonies and forensic reports that established the guilt of the accused beyond doubt.

The Jatni murder case had caused widespread outrage in the region due to its brutality. Anup Behra was ambushed and killed in cold blood over a long-standing rivalry. His family had been relentlessly pursuing justice for years.

With this verdict, the victim’s family has finally received a sense of closure. The court’s ruling serves as a strong message against violent crimes, reinforcing the importance of law and order in the state.
