Jharsuguda police foil ATM heist, recover ₹27 lakh and stolen machine

Bhubaneswar, March 20: Jharsuguda police successfully thwarted an ATM heist and recovered ₹27 lakh in cash along with the stolen ATM machine, thanks to the alertness of their night patrolling team. The incident took place late last night at BTM Square, where unidentified miscreants attempted to loot an ATM of the Central Bank of India.
According to reports, the criminals used a JCB excavator to uproot the ATM from its kiosk and fled with the entire machine, leaving behind a heavily damaged structure. However, the police patrol team, which was on routine duty in the area, swiftly responded to the situation. Acting quickly, they launched a chase to track down the miscreants.
In a well-coordinated operation, police managed to intercept the suspects and detained three individuals, including the owner of the JCB machine used in the crime. The stolen ATM and the entire cash amount of ₹27 lakh were successfully recovered. Investigations are underway to identify other possible accomplices and determine the full extent of the crime.
