Crime Branch intensifies probe into Naba Kishore Das murder, visits hospital & airport

Bhubaneswar, March 19: The Crime Branch (CB) of Odisha Police on Wednesday intensified its fresh investigation into the murder of former Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, conducting inquiries at the Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital and the Veer Surendra Sai Airport.
Following the resumption of the probe on Tuesday, the Crime Branch team had recorded the statements of Naba Das’s children, Dipali Das and Bishal Das, spending over seven hours at their residence in Sarabahal.
On Wednesday, the investigation team first visited the hospital, where they interrogated doctors and medical staff who treated the minister after he was shot. Later, they proceeded to the Jharsuguda airport, examining details related to his airlift to Bhubaneswar, including the time of departure, the people accompanying him, and the handling of the emergency evacuation.
Crime Branch Additional SP Vijay Mallick stated, “We have recorded the statement of Minati Das, wife of Naba Das, and are verifying the details. Our inquiry also focuses on the minister’s treatment after the shooting and the airlift operation.”
