Stray dog electrocuted in Cuttack: Residents demand justice

Bhubaneswar, March 12: In a tragic and shocking incident, a stray dog lost its life after coming into contact with an electrified fence set up by a resident in the Shankarpur area under Badambadi police station limits in Cuttack. The accused allegedly took this extreme step to keep the dog away from his property, resulting in a heartbreaking outcome.
According to reports, the dog was a well-known presence in the neighborhood and often wandered around the area. Its habit of defecating on the man’s property had reportedly angered him, leading him to take drastic measures. In an attempt to deter the animal, he installed an electrified fence, which proved fatal when the dog unknowingly touched it.
The gruesome act has left the local community in shock and anger, with many condemning the cruelty. Residents are demanding strict action against the accused, emphasizing that such inhumane treatment of animals should not go unpunished. Animal rights activists have also called for stricter enforcement of animal protection laws to prevent similar incidents in the future.
