Bhubaneswar, March 3: As Odisha braces for an intense summer, the state government has announced that comprehensive guidelines will be issued soon to help schools, colleges, and the general public manage the rising temperatures effectively.
The guidelines will be finalized after consultations between the School and Mass Education Department, the Higher Education Department, and other concerned authorities. These directives will include revised timings for morning classes and essential safety measures to safeguard students from extreme heat, informed Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari.
In addition to educational institutions, the government will release separate guidelines for the public, offering precautionary measures to prevent heat-related illnesses.
Revenue Minister Pujari stated that morning office hours are already in place for government offices. Decisions regarding school closures or further adjustments will be taken soon after discussions with the relevant departments.
