Massive security arrangements at Lingaraj Temple for Maha Shivaratri

Bhubaneswar, Feb 25: The historic 11th-century Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar will witness tight security arrangements for the Maha Shivaratri celebrations on February 26, with around 40 platoons of police being deployed to ensure a smooth and safe event.
Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pinak Mishra announced the security measures on Tuesday, stating that lakhs of devotees are expected to visit the temple to offer prayers and participate in the grand festival.
“All necessary arrangements for traffic management, crowd control, and safety have been made. Emergency services, including fire brigades and medical teams, will also be stationed near the temple to respond to any unforeseen incidents,” DCP Mishra said.
More than 100 police officers of various ranks will be stationed at key locations in and around the temple premises. Security duties will begin early in the morning and continue throughout the day, with additional personnel monitoring the crowd movement.
Urging the public to cooperate with police personnel, DCP Mishra assured that the administration is committed to making this world-renowned Maha Shivaratri festival a safe and memorable experience for all devotees.
