Nandankanan Zoo welcomes newborn tiger cub, boosting conservation efforts

Bhubaneswar, Feb 24: The Nandankanan Zoological Park has joyously welcomed a new tiger cub, born to tigress Ankita, marking a significant milestone in the zoo’s ongoing efforts to conserve the majestic species.
According to reports, Ankita has now given birth to her third cub, thanks to the zoo’s successful breeding program. The zoo authorities are closely monitoring the newborn to ensure its health and safety. Special arrangements have been made to provide a stress-free environment, allowing the mother and cub to bond naturally.
The zoo had recently introduced a male Royal Bengal Tiger named Saif, whose successful pairing with Ankita has led to this exciting birth. Officials believe that this development is not only great news for the zoo but also a positive step in tiger conservation efforts.
With the arrival of the new cub, the total tiger population at Nandankanan Zoo has risen to 28. The zoo, known for its conservation initiatives, continues to play a vital role in preserving endangered species and promoting breeding programs for the majestic Royal Bengal Tigers.
