Odisha HSC exams begin; over 5 lakh students appear amid tight security measures

Bhubaneswar, Feb 21: The annual High School Certificate (HSC) Examinations, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, commenced today across the state. This year, a total of 5,12,437 students are appearing for the crucial board exams at 3,029 centers spread across 30 districts. The examinations began at 9:00 AM and will conclude at 11:30 AM.
The BSE has taken extensive measures to ensure the fair and smooth conduct of the exams. A four-tier squad system has been deployed to prevent any malpractices, with CCTV cameras installed at all exam centers for strict surveillance. Additionally, around 600 centers have been equipped with live streaming facilities to monitor activities in real-time and curb cheating.
To prevent question paper leaks, the board has introduced QR codes on each page of the question paper, along with serial numbers next to each question. This innovative measure will help authorities track and trace the source of any leaked papers, ensuring transparency and credibility in the examination process.
With these security measures in place, the Odisha government and BSE aim to conduct a fair and smooth examination for all students.
