Mahadeepa to be lit at Lingaraj Temple at 10 pm
Bhubaneswar: Jagar or Mahashivaratri will be celebrated on the 26th of this month. For this, preparations are being made in earnest at the Lingaraj Temple and other Shaivite shrines in the capital Bhubaneswar.
The preparatory meeting for the famous Jagar Yatra of Mahaprabhu Lingaraj has been concluded. It has been decided to light the Mahadeep at 10 pm. Extensive arrangements have been made to ensure that the devotees can have an orderly darshan and light the lamp.
The Police Commissioner said that 35 platoons of police force and over 200 officers will be deployed for the safety of the devotees and smooth conduct of the darshan. Arrangements have also been made for traffic control and a blueprint has been prepared.
